Ab Rocket Exerciser Review
The ab rocket abdominal trainer is one of those as seen on TV fitness products that’s been around awhile but I waited awhile to try it. I mean how many of these things can I take and better yet, how many can we all take. There’s no way all of these ab machines are gonna give us six pack abs and turn us into beautiful people.
I will say this. Each of the products I own has it’s benefits and unfortunately each has their faults as well. Mainly, if you don’t use it, it won’t work. So the Ab Rocket, to me, was just another one of the bunch and I was already happy with how my Ab Circle Pro was working so I put it on the back burner. Turns out I shouldn’t have, but for reasons I didn’t expect.
The idea of the Ab Rocket is simple. It makes doing crunches and sit ups a lot easier because the machine provides neck and back support during your reps. This is a definite plus. The easier it is to do and exercise the more you will do it.
The gimmick is that there is negative Resistance which means that as you fall back in the machine your ab muscles are working. Further, when you reach the bottom of the motion, the negative Resistance gives you a little lift off into the upward motion of your crunch. All very nice features I suppose.
So sitting in this ab machine while you do some crunches, reverse crunches and oblique crunches helps provide great form and therefore a better rep. But to me, this makes it a glorified sit up machine and nothing so great you cannot live without.
There are additional add ons you can get to turn the Ab Rocket into more of a full body exerciser, do some basic pilates moves but to say it’s a complete gym and will melt the pounds off is probably an overstatement.
However, it’s very good at being a sit up machine. The rollers provide a comfortable experience while you are doing your reps, but you will need to learn to keep your head positioned on the roller or you will flop around.
But, here’s the cool thing about the Ab Rocket. It has that negative Resistance, right? So I decided to try out some different exercises and there were great. What I did was simply turn the machine around and sit with my legs on the back roller and placed my hands behind me on the floor to brace my back. I then pressed my legs against the back roller and down it went creating a really great leg lift machine with some great resistance.
It’s terrific for lower abs and when you put your hands behind your back and brace yourself on the floor you can adjust yourself a little until there is no pressure on your lower back. That’s usually the drawback of leg lift ab exercises and why I don’t do them.
So that is why I love the ab rocket and I discovered a benefit I never would have expected. This really makes my review a bit of a surprise and the reason why this ab machine isn’t just one of the crowd. You can do some very efficient exercises which are demonstrated with the product information that comes with the machine, and you can do some leg lifts are great for lower abs and will reach the upper and obliques if you alter your positioning a bit.

The Pro Wrestlers cardio workout will be intense, but will begin slow. Start off with some basic forward and backward rolls, nothing major, just enough to kick start your heart beats per minute. (About 20 total will do).
The Forward roll. Make a fist in both hands, plant the flat part of your wrist on the mat, kick your feet over your head using the moment to get back to your feet. The backward roll. Start back pushing off your feet to a quick seated position, using the moment to roll back, planting your fist on the mat (protecting your neck) and coming back to your feet.
Next move on to quick core workouts. Push ups: 15 Military Push ups (Kaos Push ups) Straight form, body as flat and stiff as a board. Head up, and knock out the first 15, take a 15 count rest (in the perfect push up position) then move to 14, with a 14 count rest so on and so forth all the way down to 1. Now that you’ve at least broken a sweat. Move on to some Standing squats.
Squats: Minimum of 150. Legs shoulder width apart. Hands either on top of your head, cross your chest or your sides lifting them up (directly in front of you) on the squat down. Back straight, head up, and squat to a seated position, 150 times.
Now that your warmed up, time to start the muscle fatigue cardio. Submission Wrestling. Starting in standing position, the first man (or woman) steps into the squared circle, going 10 one minute rounds with a fresh opponent. (Doesn’t matter if you submit or win, everyone goes the full minute) 30 second rest between matches and first match is 3 minutes. (Total 11 rounds)
